Revitalization and reconstruction of Firuz-Bey’s Public Bath (“Hamam”)

Investor – Tobacco Factory of Sarajevo

The location of Firuz-Bey’s Hamam in Sarajevo played a significant role in the mosaic of life development in Sarajevo. Also, it is important for discovery of and learning about the life before Austro-Hungarian administration in the region. Firuz-Bey’s hamam continuously existed from 16th up to 19th century.

Archeological findings of remains at the location are giving us important hints about the whole appearance of Firuz-Bey’s hamam in Sarajevo.

Following the completion of archeological research, the project design of the oldest Sarajevo hamam, as it originally was, will be developed.

Through reconstruction of these valuable facilities - a symbol of a time - Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina will gain another major national monument, all as an expression of FDS immense gratitude to its city and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
